Appointment fees
(01 July 2026 – 30 June 2027)
Fees and Medicare rebates
Coral Coast Eating Disorder Service is a private billing practice and does not routinely bulk bill.
Clients are required to pay the full appointment fee at the time of their appointment. Where a Medicare rebate applies, the rebate is then paid by Medicare to your nominated bank account. There will usually be an out-of-pocket cost (gap) for your appointment.
Limited bulk billing or reduced fees may be available in cases of financial hardship for standard review appointments only. Please discuss this with us before booking an appointment.

Medicare Rebates
You pay the full appointment fee first. Once the Medicare claim has been processed, Medicare pays the applicable rebate into your nominated bank account. The difference between the appointment fee and Medicare rebate is your out-of-pocket cost.
Payment of fees
Coral Coast Eating Disorder Service uses secure online invoicing and payment.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you may be able to claim part of the cost of your appointment.
The amount you can claim depends on your health fund and level of cover. Please check with your insurer before your appointment if you would like to know how much you can claim. You will need to submit your own claim to your private health insurer after your appointment.
Please note you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health insurance benefit for the same appointment.
Medicare Safety Net
The Medicare Safety Net can help reduce your out-of-pocket healthcare costs if you have a large amount of eligible medical expenses during a calendar year.
Once you reach the Medicare Safety Net threshold, Medicare may pay a higher rebate for eligible appointments for the rest of that calendar year. This can reduce the gap you pay for your appointments.
Families and couples may need to register as a family with Medicare so that their eligible medical costs can be combined towards the Safety Net threshold.
