Appointment fees
(01 July 2025 – 30 June 2026)
Coral Coast Eating Disorders provides a range of appointments covered under Medicare, some NDIS funds as well as private health fund or self funded reviews.
Rebates are available for all referrals covered by an Eating Disorder Treatment & Management Plan, a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) or a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (GPMHT); with clients responsible for meeting the gap payments as required.
Medicare rebates
If you have an eligible treatment plan you can claim a rebate from Medicare to cover some of the costs of your appointment. Our fees show the maximum out of pocket cost [gap] for your appointment – after your rebate has been paid. The money you get back from Medicare can increase as your out of pocket costs grow and so your final out of pocket costs for a session can fall over time. Please read the Medicare Safety Net information below.
Bulk Billing
Bulk Billing may be available for some sessions/discipline for standard review consults only (please enquire for more details). A gap payment will still be required for the initial assessment appointment. If you require in-person sessions at home more than 14km outside of Bundaberg there are additional costs associated with travel.
Payment of fees
Our fess are paid at the end of a session via EFTPOS# or by pre-arranged direct bank transfer. We process your Medicare rebate for you. It is usually credited to your nominated bank account within 24 hours. From July 1st 2025 to 30th June 2026 the current rebate under an Eating Disorder Treatment & Management plan is $61.80 for a dietetic session and $145.25 for a clinical psychology session. This is revised by the Federal Government each financial year.
Private Cover
We are registered with private health care providers meaning you can claim back the costs of your sessions up to the value provided by your cover each year. Please check with your provider first. Note, you cannot claim Medicare rebates and private health fund refunds at the same time.
Helping with out of pocket costs
Engaging in regular sessions is an important part of the recovery process. Making sure you have registered for the Medicare Safety Net ensures you can engage in all your available sessions and potentially reduce your overall out of pocket costs.
If you are accessing your private health care funds, self funding your appointments, or you are seeking more than the maximum number of sessions offered per year under Medicare, we offer discounts from session 21 and 41 onwards. See here for more details.
Fees

*Please note there may be an additional cost associated with travel if we attend an in-person appointment at locations greater than 14km from Bundaberg. The fees above are the maximum out of pocket costs after any rebates you may be due from Medicare have been refunded. You will be required to pay the full cost of the session after your appointment, with your rebate being refunded to your nominated bank account.
Medicare Safety Net
Every individual with a Medicare card is automatically registered for the Medicare Safety Net. However. if you are a member of the family (or couple) on a Medicare card, we strongly advise you to register for the Medicare Safety Net as a family. You only need to do this once. The Medicare Safety Net means that once you reach the threshold for out of pocket expenses (for your GP and specialist appointments) the rebate amounts you get back from Medicare increase, lowering the overall out of pocket costs for your appointments.
You may reach the OMSN and EMSN earlier if you are paying other out of pocket expenses for doctors and other specialists. The threshold for reaching EMSN is lower for certain individuals & families. Please check with Medicare to find out your safety net thresholds. To register your family for the safety net, visit Services Australia here and complete the registration form.
^Safety net figures are base on you completing your 20 eating disorder sessions in the same calendar year.
For all other appointment types, requests for education (schools or health practitioners) or presentations please contact us directly.
#EFTPOS: We do not accept American Express. Diners, JCB or UnionPay cards.
